Following the success of plasterers in 2018, mechanics in 2019 and farmers in 2020, skin care experts Swarfega are once again on the hunt for the toughest trade out there.

Farmer Victoria Haney scooped the title of Toughest Tradesperson 2020, winning a £200 Amazon voucher. Haney’s entry came out on top with its range of images from tending to the cows to early morning rises, closely followed by other entries from mechanics to gravediggers.

Whether a roofer shifting tons of materials high in the sky come rain or shine or a brickie making sure that solid foundations are built upon, construction workers work in some of the harshest conditions. However, no member of the industry made the top 5 last year.

Between Monday 18 January and March, Swarfega is challenging tradespeople to post a picture of themselves or of colleagues battling with their toughest task on the Swarfega Facebook or on Twitter, using the hashtag #ToughestTrade and giving a short reason why their trade should win 2021’s accolade.

During the first quarter of 2021, using their Tough-O-Meter, Swarfega will judge each picture and choose the one showing the toughest task. The top 4 will be further narrowed down for a winner to be selected through a vote on social media. The designated toughest tradesperson will receive £200 in Amazon vouchers and the trade the winner represents will be crowned Swarfega’s New Toughest Trade for 2021. The runners-up in places 2-4 will also receive a £50 Amazon voucher.

Entrants can enter as many pictures as they wish. The top 4 entries will be chosen by Swarfega at their discretion. The winner will be contacted by direct message.
