MILTON KEYNES: A man who died after an accident involving a lorry at a builder’s yard last week was a customer. Mark Pointer, 44, of Leighton Buzzard was at the Travis Perkins Builders Merchants in Old Wolverton on Friday shortly before 8am, when he was attaching planks of wood to the roof of his Land Rover.

As he stood on the nearside, rear wheel of the car the 44-year-old slipped and fell under the wheel of a lorry that was travelling through the yard.

A spokeswoman for Travis Perkins said: “Travis Perkins would like to take this opportunity to extend our very sincere condolences to the family of Mr Pointer. We are working with the appropriate agencies as they conduct their inquiries into this tragic incident.”

Mr Pointer suffered head and chest injuries and died at the scene. The full inquest will begin on April 19 next year.
