Builders’ Merchants News, in partnership with the Builders Merchants Federation, launches the campaign to celebrate those merchants who are setting standards, supporting communities and keeping construction moving.

Over the past five years, the Top 100 has celebrated merchants, suppliers and young achievers, shone a light on the heating and plumbing sector, and recognised long-standing businesses through Top 100: 50 over 50.

Now Builders' Merchants News and the Builders Merchants Federation are taking the series back to its roots with the launch of Top 100: Builders' Merchants.

Builders' merchants sit at the heart of the building materials sector, supporting professional contractors, tradespeople and DIY customers with the products, advice and service they need to complete projects efficiently.

More than simply suppliers, merchants help customers choose the right materials, avoid costly mistakes and keep jobs moving. Through strong supplier relationships, local knowledge and customer service, they play an essential role in building homes, infrastructure and communities.

Top 100: Builders' Merchants will recognise businesses operating at the top of their game. That does not simply mean the biggest by turnover, but those that are essential to their local communities, have a clear plan for growth, and foster a culture of inclusion, diversity and opportunity.
