CHICHESTER: The Leisure & Outdoor Furniture Association is launching an accreditation scheme for its members.
The scheme follows calls from retailers such as B&Q and the Garden Centre Group who want certainty about the sourcing of materials for garden furniture.
Richard Plowman, LOFA secretary said the scheme will consider the carbon footprint and sustainability of products. "It is important not to be seen as greenwash. This needs to be credible. The main issue is sustainability," he said.
