Leyland SDM will celebrate its London roots and demonstrate its support for the LGBT+ community with a stand at Pride in London on 1 July.

It is the second year Leyland SDM has been represented at Pride in London having made its bow at the event in 2022.

As well as free face painting, the Leyland SDM stand will be offering a spin-to-win competition with prizes and merchandise up for grabs.

Pride in London is the UK’s largest event of its kind and aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues. The colourful parade and festival take over the West End of London and attracts an estimated 1.5 million visitors every year.

Cliff Rendell, People Director at Leyland SDM, who has been overseeing the business’ involvement, explained: “We’re very proud to be returning to Pride in London for a second year.

“Last year was a lot of fun and we had a huge number of people visit our stand and get involved.

“With 33 stores across London, our business ethos is built around serving both tradespeople and retail customers in the capital. We want to play an active role in the community, and Pride in London is a pivotal date in the city’s calendar.

“We also have more than 450 colleagues, the overwhelming majority of which are from London, who come from incredibly diverse backgrounds. We believe that having an inclusive workforce brings not only diversity of thought, but also drives innovation, creativity and progress.

“Being involved in Pride and sharing its core principles is one way in which we show our support to our colleagues in the LGBTQ+ community.”
