Donaldson Timber Systems has appointed James Lund-Lack as Regional and Quality Manager.

An expert construction professional and strategic advisor, Lund-Lack brings over 15 years of senior management experience to his role, most recently as Managing Director of iHus Annexe, a UK timber frame homebuilder specialising in multigenerational living.

His extensive leadership experience covers both executive and non-executive roles, with a focus on driving sustainable performance and compliance. He is current Chair of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) for Bristol and South West, where he leads governance, legal compliance, membership growth, and industry engagement for over 6,200 members.

In his new role at Donaldson Timber Systems, Lund-Lack is responsible for leading and coordinating cross-functional teams across estimating, design, procurement, manufacturing and project delivery to ensure collaborative working and consistent outcomes. A core responsibility is overseeing quality management processes, ensuring compliance with company procedures, industry standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

Lund-Lack started his career as a professional sailor, successfully completing multiple transatlantic crossings and gaining Yachtmaster Offshore accreditation through demonstrated command capability, navigation expertise, and crew management. After a decade as a sailor, he gained a Distinction in Mechanical Engineering and in 2012 he secured his first role in the construction industry, taking operational responsibility for a nationwide manufacturer of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs).

Commenting on his appointment, he said: "I am thrilled to be joining the Donaldson Timber Systems team at a time when quality standards in construction have never been more important. Donaldson Timber Systems has a fantastic reputation for quality and expertise, so my focus will be on further embedding a culture of excellence at every stage of the process, ensuring that every project we deliver meets the highest benchmarks for safety, durability, and client satisfaction. I look forward to working closely with our site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across the business."

Mike Perry, Business Development Director at Donaldson Timber Systems, added: "James has a wealth of experience in our sector and brings valuable expertise that we know will make a difference to our clients and teams. He will be supporting operational excellence, high standards of communication and service delivery from end to end. This is a fantastic appointment for us and we're very much looking forward to seeing James develop the role even further."
